I am reminded why education is important when I realize that, outside the confines of the United States, not everyone has access to education the way we take it for granted here in the US.
Compound this statement with the fact that, oft times, governments and other higher powers actually stand in the way of young women especially, to become educated.
A young woman by the name of Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani, who was shot point blank by the Taliban for standing up for young women’s education in her native country Pakistan, has taken the World stage by storm with her shear simple message about why education is important.
At 16, this young woman has overcome every obstacle many of us would never dream of facing in our lifetime.
At 16, Malala was short at by the Taliban for advocating for education for young women in her village.
Hard to imagine, but hopefully this video will shed some light on Malala’s plight!
